Dr Kate Newbold MB ChB, MRCP, FRCR, FRCPE, MD (Res) is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at The Royal Marsden Hospital, specialising in thyroid and head & neck cancers.

Graduating from the University of Bristol in 1996, Dr Newbold completed specialist oncology training at The Royal Marsden and Guy’s & St Thomas’ before earning her MD for research in functional imaging in 2007.

She leads the Thyroid Cancer Unit at The Royal Marsden and is a Reader at the Institute of Cancer Research, where her research focuses on personalised therapies, radioiodine dosimetry, and the biology of thyroid cancer.

Internationally recognised, Dr Newbold contributes to national and international thyroid cancer guidelines and is highly experienced in advanced radiotherapy, radioiodine, targeted therapies, and immunotherapy—combining innovation with a strong commitment to patient‑centred care.
