Community Speech & Language Therapist

Rhiannon Haag is a community Speech & Language Therapist currently working as an associate director for AHPs in North East London. Rhiannon qualified in 2008 and has worked predominantly in head and neck cancer care since 2011. Rhiannon has a passion for developing services for people living with cancer which are accessible and closer to home. Alongside her team, she has pioneered the development of specialist services in the community, including FEES and voice prosthesis changes for people after laryngectomy. The latter project received high commendation in the Community Care Innovation of the Year section of the HSJ Awards 2024. Rhiannon co-authored the RCSLT’s clinical guidance for FEES and head and neck cancer care respectively, and in 2023 took up a second role working with Havering place based partnership, working with system stakeholders to redesign services to better meet the needs of local people. Rhiannon joined the London cancer community of practice steering group as an AHP representative a year ago and has contributed to its promotion of QI, coproduction, appreciative inquiry, developing the secondary/community care interface, cancer rehabilitation and management of frailty in cancer care.
